Chipped or Broken Tooth Repair - Garland, TX

Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure used to restore teeth which have been chipped, cracked, discolored, or misaligned during trauma or natural growth. Bonding is used as an alternative to veneers.

Bonding Procedure

The treated tooth is etched lightly and applied with a bonding liquid in order to prepare for bonding. A plastic resin is applied and is then sculpted into a customized, natural looking fit. The resin must set for a short period of time, and then is trimmed and smoothed to create an unnoticeable appearance.

Important Information

Bonding procedures can usually be completed within one office visit, and are vital to improving the look and feel of the patient’s teeth. It is important to keep in mind that the plastic resin used in this process is not as strong as natural tooth enamel and is more susceptible to staining, chipping, or breaking than natural teeth. The bonding created during this procedure usually lasts three to five years before it needs to be repaired.
